Gogoi, who is the Deputy Leader Lok Sabha INC, further said that BJP has gone blind for power and only power is everything for them.
Several MLAs, led by Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, are camped at a hotel in Assam’s Guwahati, plunging the MVA government into a political crisis.
Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi was quoted by ANI as saying, “If there’s a crisis, it’s that of floods. BJP has gone blind for power. There’re floods in Assam, PM should visit the state, announce special package but he’s busy toppling Maharashtra govt, or in Gujarat elections…Only power is everything for BJP.” (sic)

They don’t have water, people are dying and shamshaans are overflowing with water. Im getting many calls and trying to help as many. #BJPisBusy” (sic)
ASSAM CM BUSY WITH HOSPITALITY, SAYS CONGRESS
On Wednesday, Assam Congress slammed CM Himanta Biswa Sarma for providing royal hospitality to MLAs of Maharashtra. Assam Congress President Bhupen Bora said, “Ignoring 54 lakh flood-ravaged people, Assam CM is busy providing royal hospitality to MLAs of Maharashtra.”
Himanta Biswa Sarma stepped into the Maharashtra political crisis when he visited the hotel hosting the rebel MLAs on Wednesday.
Bora hit out at the Chief Minister for his failure to bring a Central Minister to take stock of the flood situation in the state. The opposition slammed the CM for failing to convince Central Govt to release sufficient fund to handle and address the ravaged flood situation.
Congress said, “When hundreds of people in Guwahati city itself are still living in the midst of extreme uncertainty after being devastated by floods and landslides, are passing time amidst horrible situation of natural calamities, disgusting politics of the Chief Minister of the state has brought shame to the people of the state of Assam.”
CM’s remark in the midst of Assam floods linked to Maharashtra’s political crisis has drawn flak from the opposition.
“Guwahati has many luxury hotels and if the rooms are full we should be happy as it will bring in revenue. We will earn through GST and we need it during these difficult times of devastating floods in the state. Why should we turn away Goddess Lakshmi when most of our hotels are empty or have low occupancy during this period,”he was quoted by PTI as saying.
